Airbnb has evolved once again and that this week made an announcement that it has created interactive maps that provide details on the available accommodation related to some specific invents using its “Airbnb for Events” tool. The tool, which went live recently, gives event planners an option of embedding Airbnb widget on their event websites directly. Also, a customized landing page redirects users to the Airbnb website is available. This brings good new professional Airbnb Management companies as many delegates prefer to stay in apartments that are fully serviced so it helps them know what they are getting for their money.
At the begging of this year, Adelaide Fringe plotted the concept of developing the tool to allow guests to navigate through online Airbnb listings in the regions that surround the festival area. There was also a suggestion that travel times be introduced between the two websites as well.
Given that the pilot project is proving to be a success, Heather Croll, who is the director and CEO of the Adelaide Fringe, says that there are plans to expand the services so that they include many other suburban and events hosted in the region. The tool will also help event planners to tickets, manage, provide guides and plan well for different events.
According to Joyce DiMascio, chief executive of the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia, business events play a huge role in driving the regional economy and having the Airbnb tool in place will help make event planning easier. She went on to say that the association supports any innovation that aims at helping users to access their wanted types of accommodation regardless of whether they traditional or home-style, which is what Airbnb does.
After expanding its services to include professional accommodation, Airbnb challenged its competitors such as Expedia to embrace the same citing that there was more to accommodation than the traditional online travel agencies. Event organizers can now access the Airbnb tool for trial online.
